About Martinsville Emporium

Martinsville Emporium is a woman-owned, home-based business started in 2002. Owner Heather Kalisiak ventured into the soapmaking business as an outgrowth of her love of essential oils and natural beauty products. Starting with only a few bars of melt & pour soap and a stall at the farmer's market, she has watched her business grow to include many different bath & body products. She prides herself on creating the majority of her formulas from scratch, refining them over time before offering them for sale. She added soy wax candles to her product line in 2004 after two years of testing.

She lives in Martinsville, NY, in the house that sits between her parents and grandparents, with her husband of 15 years and her two unschooled children. If she had spare time, she would probably spend it reading shoujo manga or using her sewing machine.
